Shabbat in Nature - Mount Umunhum

Saturday, July 24, 2021 15 Av 5781

10:00 AM - 12:30 PM

We are excited to bring back Shabbat In Nature! This gives us an opportunity to come together on Shabbat, sing together and spend time outdoors in nature as a community. Please make sure to register in advance before attending.

  • Mt Umunhum (Sierra Azul open space preserve) is a sacred space for the Amah Mutsun tribe of the Ohlon, and is one of the most historic sacred spaces in the Bay Area. We are meeting at the Ceremonial Space on the summit of the mountain.
  • Service begins at 10am, Saturday July 24
  • People can either join us at the summit, or if they want to hike: Meet at 8am at the Bald Mountain parking lot and join TEE on a 3.7 mile, 1150 ft climb hike to the Umunhum Summit  (This hike is being led by Nancy Weintraub)
  • At the summit, 53 general parking spots are available (with about 100 stairs to climb after parking). There is very limited accessible parking closer to the summit, and a drop-off area. There is no entrance or parking fee.
  • Dogs not allowed in the preserve (sorry)
  • Bring water and a vegetarian snack for yourself
  • Please either be vaccinated or wear a mask (or both)
  • Clergy-led service

We apologize as we have reached capacity for Shabbat in Nature and appreciate your interest in attending.
We look forward to seeing you at events in the future.
