Saturday, Feb 8, 9:00 am – 1:00 pm:  Shabbat in Nature (La Honda Creek Preserve, 5 miles). You will experience Shabbat in Nature with Clergy and Docent Naturalists Nancy Weintraub, Helena Cohen and Nick Yatsko to celebrate Tu B'Shvat the Jewish New Year of the trees at La Honda Creek Open Space Preserve.  You will explore a closed central portion of this preserve to experience the quiet of a redwood forest, listen to the gurgling La Honda Creek, and enjoy expansive views along the way. You'll engage all your senses as we discuss the "awe" of trees and nature.  A section of this hike is on a rough unimproved trail with some exposed and steep uphill sections. Bring a snack for a short break by the creek.  Carpooling recommended. Heavy rain cancels.

Directions and Parking:  Sears Ranch Road Parking Area (23 spaces): Access to Lower La Honda Creek. Take Sears Ranch Road off of Highway 84 in La Honda.
