Join Rabbi Dana Magat for a monthly deep dive into the commentaries of Rabbi Shlomo Yitzchaki, better known as Rashi, famous 11th century French Rabbi. The class will use materials from the book The JPS Rashi Discussion Torah Commentary (JPS Study Bible) by Sarah and Steven Levy (2018). Needed materials will be provided by Rabbi Magat, though some students may eventually decide to purchase the book for further study.

Those Torah portions and Rashi commentaries chosen will especially grapple with an assortment of ethical dilemmas. In that respect, this class will be a good follow-up to the recent Mussar Torah Studies class, though participants do not need to have taken that class to get the full benefit of participation in this class.

The class will be taught once per month, every second (or third) Wednesday evening from 7:00 p.m.-8 p.m. via Zoom, beginning November 13, 2024 and ending May 14, 2025. You may register for one class, multiple classes or all classes at any given time.
