Did you know that there is more than one version of Mah Jongg? Yes, there is! That's why we are excited to have Joy Powell teach you how to play American Mah Jongg!

If you have never played American Mah Jongg or it’s been a long time since you last played and are not familiar with the rules, please join us for beginner lessons! This class is geared toward those players who have little to no experience playing Mah Jongg. 

During this four-week series, you will learn all about American Mah Jongg using the National Mah Jongg League rules, how to choose a hand, how to do a Charleston (not the dance), and more. We will wrap up our series with a fun “mini tournament”.

We will have NMJL cards for you to use each week. Drinks and snacks will be provided as well.

NOTE: No groups needed for this lesson series. Classes will be held at Temple Emanu-El in the Benefactor's Room.
