Men today are faced with many questions. Conflicting notions of career, fatherhood, responsibility and marriage have eroded centuries-old concepts of male identity and self-worth. More and more of us are searching for a new sense of balance in our lives, searching for something that speaks to us as Jews, as adults, and as men.
Temple Emanu-El Brotherhood helps Reform Jewish men find this sense of balance. We help men find identity, involvement and inspiration in their lives through fuller participation in their local temple community and through involvement with larger societal issues and concerns. We are actively engaged in improving the quality of life for our members, our families, our congregations and our society.
We are dedicated to tikkun olam, 'repairing the world', through the practice of Brotherhood by...
- Creating opportunities for men to explore and celebrate the
male Jewish spirit in an atmosphere of fellowship, through study,
worship and service.
- Increasing the identification, inspiration and involvement of
men in Reform Judaism to ensure the diverse opinions, perspectives,
and contributions of men are represented in all areas of temple life.
- Driving projects and
activities that provide meaningful services to our congregation, our
religious school, our community, and our members.
- Sponsoring
and promoting interfaith education and understanding
through the Jewish Chautauqua Society (JCS)
- Strengthening
the Reform Jewish Community on college campuses through the Reform
On Campus (ROC) Project
- Exploring and celebrating our Jewish lives through the Achim Corps.
